**** DRILL **** Statement on incident at Bayway Refinery

At approximately 3 a.m. today, Aug. 16, 2018, a quantity of petroleum product was released at the Bayway Refinery from an accidentally damaged storage tank. Our Bayway Emergency Responders and local Linden Emergency Responders were immediately notified and are on scene working to control the release. State, federal and local regulatory agencies and first responders have been informed and are working to contain the release. There are no injuries and all personnel are accounted for.

The heavy gas oil release came from a tank area located on the refinery property near Park Ave. in South Linden, NJ. Park Ave has been closed as a precaution. The product has been identified in the Arthur Kill waterway at the dock area of the refinery. First responders have been deployed to the site, boom is now being deployed to important areas to contain the release, and containment and collection vessels are on site. On-site response teams are working to determine the quantity released.
